Age requirements on LuxID Accounts

Minimum age requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to create and manage your own LuxID Account.

This requirement is based on Luxembourg law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which sets the minimum age for consenting to the processing of personal data. Luxembourg has set this age at 16.

What if I am under 16?

LuxID does not currently offer accounts for users under 16. If you are under 16 and need to access a LuxID Partner service, contact the partner service directly to find out what options are available.

Age verification

LuxID may ask you to confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement. If LuxID determines that an account holder does not meet the age requirement, the account may be blocked.

Age requirements for partner services

Individual LuxID Partner services may have their own age requirements that are separate from LuxID's. Check each partner service's terms of use for details.
