Inactive LuxID Account policy

What is an inactive account?

An inactive LuxID Account is an account that has not been used for an extended period. LuxID reserves the right to block or delete inactive accounts after a period of inactivity, in accordance with the LuxID Terms and Conditions (opens in a new tab).

How LuxID defines activity

A LuxID Account is considered active if you perform any of the following actions:

  • Sign in to your LuxID Account
  • Sign in to a LuxID Partner service using "Sign in with LuxID"
  • Update your account settings or personal information
  • Change your password or manage your security settings

What happens when your account is inactive

LuxID will never block or delete your account without notice. Before any action, LuxID will:

  • Send an email notification to the address associated with your account.
  • Give you a reasonable period to sign in and reactivate it - simply signing in is enough.

If you do not sign in within that period, your account is first blocked and then deleted. Profile data is kept for up to 3 years after your last activity, after which it is permanently removed (apart from the minimum LuxID must retain for legal reasons).

How to keep your account active

To prevent your account from being considered inactive, simply sign in to your LuxID Account (opens in a new tab) or use "Sign in with LuxID" on any partner service periodically.

If you want to delete your account

You can delete your LuxID Account at any time. See Delete your LuxID Account for instructions.

If you want a copy of your data

You can request a copy of the personal data stored in your LuxID Account. See How to retrieve your data for details.
