Change your username

About usernames

The LuxID username is a legacy feature. Your primary way to sign in to LuxID is with your email address (your LuxID identifier). However, if you have a username set, you can also use it to sign in.

We recommend using your email address to sign in, as it is easier to remember and is the standard sign-in method for LuxID.

Set or remove a username

1. Go to your LuxID Account (opens in a new tab).
2. Go to Security > Connection methods > Username.
3. From here you can:
   • Set a username - Enter your desired username and save. Usernames must be unique and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
   • Remove your username - Click the remove option to delete your username from the account.

Things to know

• Your username must be unique across all LuxID Accounts. If the username you want is already taken, you will need to choose a different one.
• Setting a username is optional. Your email address always works as your sign-in method.
• If you remove your username, it may become available for other users to claim.
