Manage your email addresses

LuxID identifier (primary email)

Your LuxID identifier is the email address you use to sign in to your LuxID Account. This is your primary email address and serves as the main way to identify your account.

Important

LuxID does not provide email services. Your LuxID identifier is an email address from any email provider (e.g., yourname@pt.lu) that you use to create and sign in to your LuxID Account.

Managed by an organisation?

If your LuxID Account is provided by your organisation (LuxID Pro), your email address may be assigned by your administrator and may not be changeable here. See Manage your LuxID Pro account.

To change your LuxID identifier:

  1. Go to your LuxID Account (opens in a new tab).
  2. Go to Account > Contact information > E-mail.
  3. Click the link to update your e-mail address.
  4. Enter your new email address and your current password to confirm.
  5. LuxID sends a verification code to your new email address. Enter the code to validate the change.

Your new email address becomes your LuxID identifier once verified.

If your new address is rejected: The email you want to use must not already belong to another LuxID Account, and you must enter your current password to confirm the change. You cannot move or merge an email address between two LuxID Accounts - if that address already has its own account, sign in to that account instead, or contact LuxID support.

When LuxID will send you emails

LuxID uses your email address to communicate with you in certain situations. For example, LuxID will email you to:

  • Help you get into your account when you cannot sign in or forget your password.
  • Send you important security-related information about your account, such as unusual sign-in activity.
  • Send you updates about your account or LuxID services.

Notifications from LuxID are sent from notification@msg.luxid.lu. Learn how to recognise legitimate LuxID messages.
