What data does LuxID store?
Your LuxID Account contains the following categories of data:
- Personal information - Your name, email address, phone number, and date of birth.
- Security settings - Your password (stored hashed, never in readable form), 2-Step Verification configuration, and registered passkeys.
- Preferences - Your account settings, such as your preferred language (and, in the future, your accessibility preferences).
- Connected applications - A list of LuxID Partner services you have authorised and the specific data you agreed to share with each.
- Authentication history - Records of sign-in events, including dates, times, and devices used.
- Consent records - A log of when you granted, modified, or revoked consent for partner services.
Find your data
You can review the personal data LuxID holds about you at any time:
- Sign in to your LuxID Account (opens in a new tab).
- Go to Account to see your personal information (name, email, phone number, date of birth).
- Go to Applications to see which partner services you have authorised and what data you agreed to share.
- Go to Security to review your security settings (password, 2-Step Verification, and passkeys).
LuxID also keeps activity logs, such as your sign-in history, but these are not viewable in your account yet. You can obtain them as part of a copy of your data.
Get a copy of your data
Under the GDPR, you have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a portable format (the right to data portability). A self-service export is not available yet, but LuxID can provide this on request. For step-by-step instructions, see How to retrieve your data.
Delete your data
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data (right to erasure). There are several ways to manage your data:
Delete specific data
- Sign in to your LuxID Account (opens in a new tab).
- Go to Account to update or remove personal information.
- Go to Applications to revoke access for partner services.
Delete your entire account
If you want to delete all your LuxID data, you can delete your account entirely. This is immediate and permanent - it cannot be undone.
For step-by-step instructions, see Delete your LuxID Account.
Data retained by partner services
When you revoke access or delete your LuxID Account, LuxID stops sharing your data with partner services. However, data that partner services collected independently is governed by their own privacy policies. Contact each partner service directly to request deletion of their copies.
