How to send us screenshots

Why send screenshots?

When contacting LuxID support for assistance or to report a problem, screenshots help the support team understand the issue you are experiencing. Please include screenshots of any error messages or unexpected behaviour whenever possible.

Before you send a screenshot

Blur or crop out anything sensitive first - in particular any one-time code, password, or your full phone number. LuxID never needs these to help you, and a code captured in a screenshot could be misused.

How to send screenshots to LuxID support

When you contact LuxID support, you can attach screenshots to your message by email:

1. Take a screenshot of the issue (see instructions below for your platform).
2. Send an email to support@luxid.lu with a clear description of the problem.
3. Attach the screenshot files to your email.

tip

Include as much detail as possible in your message, such as:

• What you were trying to do
• The exact error message (if any)
• Your browser name and version
• Your operating system

How to take a screenshot

Windows

There are several ways to take a screenshot on Windows:

Print screen

Press the Print Screen button (sometimes labeled PrtScn). The screenshot is saved to your clipboard. Open an image editor (such as Microsoft Paint), paste the screenshot, and save the image.

Windows key + print screen

Press the Windows key and Print Screen button simultaneously. The screenshot is automatically saved under Pictures > Screenshots.

Snipping tool

Press Start, type Snipping Tool in the search bar, and hit Enter. The Snipping Tool allows you to select and capture a specific area of your screen.

Alt + print screen

Press Alt + Print Screen to capture only the active window. The screenshot is saved to your clipboard. Paste it into an image editor to save it.

macOS

All screenshots on macOS are automatically saved to your desktop.

• Entire screen - Press Shift + Command + 3.
• Portion of screen - Press Shift + Command + 4, then click and drag to select the area.
• Specific window - Press Shift + Command + 4, then press Spacebar. Click on the window you want to capture.

Press Esc to cancel at any time.

Linux (Ubuntu)

• Active window - Press Alt + Print Screen.
• Portion of screen - Press Shift + Print Screen, then click and drag to select the area.

Screenshots are saved automatically in Home > Pictures. If you do not have a Pictures folder, they will be saved in your Home folder.

iOS

• iPhone 8 or earlier, iPad, or iPod touch - Press the Home button and the Top or Side button at the same time.
• iPhone X and later - Press the Side button and the Volume Up button at the same time.

Screenshots are saved in Photos > Albums > Screenshots.

Android

On most Android devices, press the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time. Screenshots are saved in your device's gallery or photos app.
